CHARLOTTE CLERGY STAND AGAINST HB2, VOW TO OVERTURN LAW

An interfaith coalition of 68 Charlotte-Mecklenburg area clergy members is committed to overturning HB2. “We are morally outraged about this rarely used political maneuver by the State Senate and House to bypass the will of Charlotte’s City Council; however, we are even more disturbed about the fact that this effort denies entire segments of the population their due protections as citizens.”

We pledge our commitment to stand against HB2 and to see it overturned. Therefore, on Tuesday the Charlotte Clergy Coalition for Justice will pledge our commitment and resources to overturning this egregious act of injustice.

We refuse to allow the actions of a few politicians in Raleigh to eradicate the voice of the people in Charlotte. For we know that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
